The Aruka Centre serves as the cornerstone of our Foundation, a registered non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of the disadvantaged. Established in 1999, The Aruka Centre maintains close affiliations with Correctional Services, Boksburg Child Welfare, SANCA, local schools, and governmental bodies such as the Department of Education and the Labour Department, among others.
The Aruka Centre accommodates approximately 1400 individuals, providing both housing and sustenance. Education is offered to children through an on-site Crèche, currently catering to 180 attendees ranging from infancy to pre-Grade R. Upon reaching school age, children transition to local schools, where their progress is overseen by trained facilitators.
Occupancy at The Aruka Centre reflects a diverse racial composition, with a 70% occupancy rate among Black individuals, complemented by representation from White, Coloured, and Indian communities.
